Buck Moorhead Board Member
Buck Moorhead is the principal of Buck Moorhead Architect, an
architectural firm founded in 1984 and based in Lower Manhattan for the
past twenty years.
Not-for-profit clients have included the Anne Frank Center, the
National Audubon Society, the Institute for East West Studies, and
Demos: A Network for Ideas and Action.
Buck graduated from the University of Virginia's architectural school
in 1976. He is a licensed architect in New York, New Jersey, and
Virginia. He studied painting at New York University's Gallatin School
in the 1980's. His work was exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago
in 1989.
He is a member of the Council for Educational Facilities Planners,
International(CEFPI), a member of Architects, Planners, and Designers
for Social Responsibility (ADPSR), and a member of the Visioning
Committee for the Upper Delaware River. He has completed long distance
fund-raising bicycle rides each of the past eight years to raise
awareness and money for AIDS-related research and services. These rides
have included Boston to New York, San Francisco to Los Angeles, and
Amsterdam to Paris.
He has been on the Board of Directors of the Downtown United Soccer Club
(DUSC) for ten years, a soccer club serving over one thousand children
between Battery Park and 59th Street in Manhattan. He and his wife and
two children have lived in Lower Manhattan for twenty-four years.
